What a store in Serbia must have — and what is not usually mentioned in the offer

The website is only one part of an ecommerce operation. A store that actually takes payments must satisfy three requirements unrelated to visual design, and none can simply be switched on the day before launch.

Card payment requires a contract with a bank, not a button

Card payments are handled through a payment processor. In Serbia, common options include Monri WSPay, AllSecure, or the bank’s own solution, with Banca Intesa and Raiffeisen among the frequent choices. The bank first reviews the merchant, company documents, products, and terms of sale. This administrative process takes weeks and runs alongside development, so it must be planned at the start. Until approval, the store can launch with cash on delivery and bank-transfer payment.

Online sales fiscalization is easier than you think

Sales to natural persons are subject to the issuance of a fiscal invoice under the Law on Fiscalization, which applies from 2022. For an online store, this does not mean hardware in the office: e-commerce traffic is fiscalized through a virtual processor (V-FRP) of the Tax Administration, which is free, so a local processor (L-FRP) is not required. A certified ESIR connecting to that system is required, and each account must be digitally signed with a security element and carry a QR code with a verification URL.

Shipping and cash on delivery are part of the system, not an afterthought

Shipping rates in the cart, courier selection, parcel tracking, and the way cash-on-delivery payments are recorded all shape the checkout and order-processing workflow. Leaving these decisions until the end usually creates manual data entry and customer-visible errors.

What actually changes the price

The ranges in bids vary because different things are measured. These are the factors that change the scope of work on our projects the most.

Broj proizvoda je manje bitan od broja varijacija

A catalog of 500 simple items is often an easier job than 80 products with sizes, colors, different prices per variant and special stock status. Variations affect data structure, filters, and input, including how long it will take you to add a new item yourself later.

Integrations with systems you already use

Connections to accounting, inventory, ERP, or invoicing systems are the most common reason a project moves from standard to complex. Every integration depends on whether the other system provides an API and how well that API is documented.

Existing catalogue migration

If you already sell elsewhere, migrating products, customers, and order history is a separate workstream, especially when the source data is inconsistent. Duplicate SKUs, inconsistent names, and low-resolution images can take longer to resolve than building the catalogue pages themselves.

What's not included

To avoid surprises, these are the costs and responsibilities that exist regardless of who builds the store.

Payment processor and bank fees

Transaction and monthly processor fees are charged directly under your agreement with the bank. They are not agency fees and are outside our control.

Product photography and descriptions

We can prepare the structure, standards, and an example, but product copy and photography must come from you or your content team. Even a technically excellent store will struggle to sell with poor product imagery.

Hosting, domain, and routine maintenance

An online store is a live system: updates, backups, and uptime monitoring are ongoing responsibilities, not one-off tasks. We therefore price and manage them separately and transparently.

Questions we get most often

How long does it take to create an online store?

A smaller store with a clear catalog is usually finished in four to six weeks. The standard store with product variations and payment integration lasts six to ten weeks. The deadline depends mostly on how quickly the product data arrives and how long the approval of the payment processor with the bank takes, which is an out-of-control process for both you and us.

Do I need a fiscal cash register for an online store?

You do not need a hardware cash register. Turnover from electronic commerce is fiscalized through a virtual processor of fiscal receipts of the Tax Administration, which is free of charge, so a local processor is not required. A certified ESIR associated with that system is required, and this is set up as part of the project.

Can I start without a card payment?

Yes, and that's a common and reasonable start. The store can work with cash on delivery and payment according to the pro forma invoice for the duration of the approval with the bank. The card payment is added later without re-creation, since the system is set up from the beginning so that it can receive it.

Why WooCommerce instead of a subscription-based hosted platform?

Because the store remains yours. Product and customer data is on your hosting, there is no monthly fee per number of products or platform commission on sales, and you can change the contractor without migrating the entire system. Ready-made platforms make sense when the start speed priority is above control and long-term cost.

What happens when a store grows?

Growth is most often felt through speed and through order processing, not through the number of products. That is why the category structure, image optimization and cache are taken into account from the beginning, and later integrations are added that remove manual work. Switching from 100 to 1,000 items does not require a new store.

How we work

The same four steps regardless of the service — to know where the project is at all times.

01

Audit and objective

We first establish what the website must deliver: enquiries, sales, trust, better performance, easier maintenance, or a migration without losses.

02

Structure and content

We plan the pages, content, and user journey so visitors understand the offer quickly and can contact you easily.

03

Design and development

We build a clear interface, a fast user experience, and a WordPress admin area that does not require a developer for every change.

04

Testing and launch

Before launch, we test the mobile layout, forms, performance, page URLs, redirects, analytics setup, and every critical user flow.
